edid-decode software package provides Decodes to text the binary EDID information from monitors, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install edid-decode
edid-decode is installed in your system.
Make ensure the edid-decode package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep edid-decode *
You will get with edid-decode package name, version, architecture and description in a table
