eclipse-pydev software package provides Python IDE for Eclipse, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install eclipse-pydev
eclipse-pydev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the eclipse-pydev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep eclipse-pydev *
You will get with eclipse-pydev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
