dovecot-mysql software package provides secure POP3/IMAP server - MySQL support, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install dovecot-mysql
dovecot-mysql is installed in your system.
Make ensure the dovecot-mysql package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep dovecot-mysql *
You will get with dovecot-mysql package name, version, architecture and description in a table
