dh-kpatches software package provides Debhelper script to help packaging kernel patches, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install dh-kpatches
dh-kpatches is installed in your system.
Make ensure the dh-kpatches package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep dh-kpatches *
You will get with dh-kpatches package name, version, architecture and description in a table
