How to uninstall or remove cron-apt software package from Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak)

You can uninstall or removes an installed cron-apt package itself from Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove cron-apt 

Uninstall cron-apt including dependent package

If you would like to remove cron-apt and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove cron-apt 
Use Purging cron-apt

If you use with purge options to cron-apt package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge cron-apt 

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove cron-apt
