couchdb-common software package provides RESTful document oriented database - common data, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install couchdb-common
couchdb-common is installed in your system.
Make ensure the couchdb-common package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep couchdb-common *
You will get with couchdb-common package name, version, architecture and description in a table
