compiz-mate software package provides OpenGL window and compositing manager - MATE integration, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install compiz-mate
compiz-mate is installed in your system.
Make ensure the compiz-mate package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep compiz-mate *
You will get with compiz-mate package name, version, architecture and description in a table
