How to uninstall or remove bitlbee-libpurple software package from Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak)

You can uninstall or removes an installed bitlbee-libpurple package itself from Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove bitlbee-libpurple 

Uninstall bitlbee-libpurple including dependent package

If you would like to remove bitlbee-libpurple and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove bitlbee-libpurple 
Use Purging bitlbee-libpurple

If you use with purge options to bitlbee-libpurple package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge bitlbee-libpurple 

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove bitlbee-libpurple
