How to uninstall or remove autotools-dev software package from Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak)

You can uninstall or removes an installed autotools-dev package itself from Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove autotools-dev 

Uninstall autotools-dev including dependent package

If you would like to remove autotools-dev and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove autotools-dev 
Use Purging autotools-dev

If you use with purge options to autotools-dev package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge autotools-dev 

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove autotools-dev
