auto-apt-proxy software package provides automatic detector of common APT proxy settings, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install auto-apt-proxy
auto-apt-proxy is installed in your system.
Make ensure the auto-apt-proxy package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep auto-apt-proxy *
You will get with auto-apt-proxy package name, version, architecture and description in a table
