How to uninstall or remove arduino-core software package from Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak)

You can uninstall or removes an installed arduino-core package itself from Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) through the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get remove arduino-core 

Uninstall arduino-core including dependent package

If you would like to remove arduino-core and it's dependent packages which are no longer needed from Ubuntu,

$ sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove arduino-core 
Use Purging arduino-core

If you use with purge options to arduino-core package all the configuration and dependent packages will be removed.

$ sudo apt-get purge arduino-core 

If you use purge options along with auto remove, will be removed everything regarding the package, It's really useful when you want to reinstall again.

$ sudo apt-get purge --auto-remove arduino-core
