chemical-mime-data software package provides chemical MIME and file type support for desktops, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install chemical-mime-data
chemical-mime-data is installed in your system.
Make ensure the chemical-mime-data package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep chemical-mime-data *
You will get with chemical-mime-data package name, version, architecture and description in a table
