chef-solr software package provides manager for search indexes of Chef node attributes using Solr, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install chef-solr
chef-solr is installed in your system.
Make ensure the chef-solr package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep chef-solr *
You will get with chef-solr package name, version, architecture and description in a table
