apt-cacher software package provides Caching proxy for Debian package and source files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install apt-cacher
apt-cacher is installed in your system.
Make ensure the apt-cacher package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep apt-cacher *
You will get with apt-cacher package name, version, architecture and description in a table
